File Processing
Once suitable files are received by Albinson Reprographics, they must be loaded into a computer and processed before they can be printed. Most files require only 10-15 minutes of processing time before they are ready to be printed. More complex files may take from 30 minutes to several hours to process. Because processing requires the exclusive use of a computer, we will charge a processing fee for all files that take more than 20 minutes to process.
Uploading
There are a variety of different ways you can send your files electronically.
Send-A-Job
The most convenient way to send us files for printing is our Send-A-Job Uploader. If you can't see the file uploader window, you may need to update Java on your computer.
- Archive your files
No matter how you send the files to us, the first step is to archive them with WinZip, StuffIt, or an equivalent archiving utility.
- Enter Your Information
Fill out the upper portion of the file uploader window with your contact information and details about the print job. Please include complete instructions about printing in the General Instructions box. These include the following: Company name, contact name, phone number, pen settings, media type, sets/binding information, and any other information pertaining to the print job.
- Upload Your Archive
Locate and select your archive from the listing on the left, and click the >> button. Alternatively, you can click the Browse... button to browse your local drive. To select multiple files, hold down the Control key (Windows) or Command key (Mac). When finished, click the Upload button to begin the file transfer.
- Verify Your Transfer
Call your Albinson Reprographics service representative at 612.374.1120 and inform them of the transfer. They will confirm your print job specifications and ensure timely completion of your order.
FTP
- Archive your files
- Log in to Albinson's FTP site
Use an FTP client (such as Core FTP Lite for Windows or Transmit for Mac) to log into Albinson's FTP site, using the following information:
Address: ftp.albinson.com
Username: ftpuser
Password: albinson
If you are using Internet Explorer in Windows, you can also log in through the browser at: ftp://ftpuser:albinson@ftp.albinson.com/. Please be aware that you may get a "550 Permission Denied" error. This is normal. It only means that your FTP client tried to read the contents of that directory and wasn't allowed.
- Upload your archive
Most FTP clients allow you to drag and drop your files onto the server. Your files will be uploaded "blind", meaning when the file transfer is complete, you will not see your uploaded file in the incoming folder.
- Verify your transfer
Call your Albinson Reprographics service representative at 612.374.1120 and inform them of the transfer. They will confirm your print job specifications and ensure timely completion of your order.
